Inertial and Hodge-Tate weights of crystalline representations

No full text
Let KK be an unramified extension of Qp\mathbb{Q}_p and ρ ⁣:GKGLn(Zp)\rho\colon G_K \rightarrow \operatorname{GL}_n(\overline{\mathbb{Z}}_p) a crystalline representation. If the Hodge--Tate weights of ρ\rho differ by at most pp then we show that these weights are contained in a natural collection of weights depending only on the restriction to inertia of ρ=ρZpFp\overline{\rho} = \rho \otimes_{\overline{\mathbb{Z}}_p} \overline{\mathbb{F}}_p. Our methods involve the study of a full subcategory of pp-torsion Breuil--Kisin modules which we view as extending Fontaine--Laffaille theory to filtrations of length pp

Microwave dosimeter - A concept

Get PDF
Dosimeter determines time-integrated radiation dosage to which an individual is exposed. Integration is measured chemically in proportion to radiation detected. Wearer receives an exposure measurement representing an average of the dose over the entire body

Metabolic simulation chamber

Metabolic simulation combustion chamber was developed as subsystem for breathing metabolic simulator. Entire system is used for evaluation of life support and resuscitation equipment. Metabolism subsystem simulates a human by consuming oxygen and producing carbon dioxide. Basic function is to simulate human metabolic range from rest to hard work

Temperature and humidity control of simulated human breath

Subsystem was developed for breathing metabolic simulator which adjusts temperature and humidity of air to levels of human exhaled breath. Temperature-humidity subsystem is described, consisting of aluminum enclosure with 400 watt heat sheet glued to bottom, vertical separators, inlet connection, and check valve

Study of spacecraft direct readout meteorological systems

Get PDF
Characteristics are defined of the next generation direct readout meteorological satellite system with particular application to Tiros N. Both space and ground systems are included. The recommended space system is composed of four geosynchronous satellites and two low altitude satellites in sun-synchronous orbit. The goesynchronous satellites transmit to direct readout ground stations via a shared S-band link, relayed FOFAX satellite cloud cover pictures (visible and infrared) and weather charts (WEFAX). Basic sensor data is transmitted to regional Data Utilization Stations via the same S-band link. Basic sensor data consists of 0.5 n.m. sub-point resolution data in the 0.55 - 0.7 micron spectral region, and 4.0 n.m. resolution data in the 10.5 - 12.6 micron spectral region. The two low altitude satellites in sun-synchronous orbit provide data to direct readout ground stations via a 137 MHz link, a 400 Mhz link, and an S-band link

The relationship between angiogenesis and cyclooxygenase-2 expression in prostate cancer

Get PDF
OBJECTIVE: To test the hypothesis that angiogenesis in prostate cancer is associated with tumour invasion and metastasis, and that this is mediated through increased cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) expression. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Angiogenesis was assessed in 105 patients with either prostate cancer (79) or benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH, 26) and these data correlated with levels of COX-2 expression in the same dataset. The mean microvessel density (MVD) was analysed as a marker of angiogenesis, using the endothelial antigen CD34 stained by immunohistochemistry. RESULTS: There was no difference in MVD in progressive tumour stages compared with BPH. There was a negative correlation between MVD and COX-2 expression, but the effect of increased COX-2 expression on MVD was not marked. CONCLUSION: These data suggest that COX-2 drives tumour spread in prostate cancer by means other than the promotion of angiogenesis
